The Lesní dům (forest house) is a renaissance structure located within the complex of the Bechyně chateau, in the middle of the chateau park with a view of the renaissance chateau.

Seven twin bed rooms with the possibility of adding camp beds are available here for more demanding customers. At the beginning of 2008 the rooms underwent a complete reconstruction.  Each of the rooms is designed in an original manner, which depicts the history of all the owners of the chateau estate. The rooms are equipped with a toilet and bathroom, television and mini bar. A kitchenette is also available for those wishing to prepare their own refreshments.

 

The Lesní dům, also known as the Hozlaurovský dům, was originally a single-floor buildings – the former residence of Jindřich Švamberk. The house takes its name from the former owner, Petr Hozlaur of Hozlau, who sold the house to Petr Vok of Rožmberk. Petr Vok had premises built here for the administration of the estate. The ground floor was occupied by forestry and agriculture offices and a flat, with further offices on the first floor. In 1759 the architect Donát Morazzi converted the still-house on the ground floor into flats. The offices served amongst other matters for the administration of the estate forests, and so the building gained a further name and is also known as the Lesní dům, or forest house.
